This is another must-buy in Korea. This was actually my FIRST purchase in Korea… the first store I saw when I visited Myeongdong was Tony Moly and I bought this Backstage Gel Eyeliner in Pearl Black.
So let’s look at the breakdown…
Packaging…
The packaging of this is pretty straight forward. The bottom contains the gel eyeliner and the cap contain a brush. I love that you can see what color this is through the bottom without having to open it *if you’re like me and want to own multiple ones of these, this is important!*
Brush…
As you can see, the top is where the brush is. The brush is decent, not the must accurate because it’s on the thicker side, but it works!
You’ll have to excuse mine because it’s a little dirty! haha.
Color/Opacity….
The color I bought was Pearl Black. I wanted something a little different, but not too crazy so this seemed like a happy medium. It’s definitely not the darkest or richest black, but this is good because if it were too dark you wouldn’t be able to see the glitter in the product. Unlike other “glitter” eyeliners, this one you can actually see the sparkles on your eye, which I love and I think it makes you look more interesting!
Consistency…
This eyeliner glides on very smooth. However, I would say this is more of a “cream” eyeliner than a gel. This is because it’s on the drier side. So be sure to keep the cap tight if you decide to buy this product because it will dry out very easily if you don’t! You can kind of tell what the texture is like through this close-up.
Long-Lasting….
This product is very long-lasting. It doesn’t really smudge around when it is dry and it doesn’t budge really. Be sure to use a primer though if you have oily eyelids just to be sure though!
Water-proof….
I would say this eyeliner is not really waterproof. As you can see, it holds up under water, but once you touch it/swipe it, it quickly smudges.
