I recently made a video discussing my most used and loved skin care products of 2020. Here are my picks and why I love them!
Let’s get to the breakdown…
As I mentioned in the video, I wanted to do things a little differently this year. I decided to place each of the skincare products in categories because I noticed I gravitated towards certain things in 2020.
Vitamin C Favorites
Skinceuticals C E Ferulic
This vitamin c serum is a bit pricy, but so worth it if you can swing it! This formula is proprietary to Skinceuticals. What makes it special is how they stabilize the vitamin c derivatives in this.
Glow Recipe Pinapple-C Bright Vitamin C Serum
This is another vitamin c serum I love. It features vitamin c from pineapple and I love how this absorbs into my skin. It’s slightly thicker than other vitamin c serums, but this works nicely on my dry skin.
Bonajour Green Multi-Vitamin Vital Nutrition Cream
When I’m not using a vitamin c serum in the morning, I like to use a cream. This is such a nice one and I’ve been loving everything from this brand!
Obagi Clinical Vitamin C Suncare
This is such a unique sun product. Not only does this couple nicely with the vitamin c and the sun protection, but as a makeup primer, this is excellent. It smooths the skin and makes it look flawless. This is an awesome all in one product if you’re on the hunt for one.
Cleansing
Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Milk
This reminds me of the Kate Somerville Delikate cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft and it’s super affordable.
Bonajour Mellow Mild Milk Cleanser
I’ve been super into gentle, milky cleansers. I like this one because it actually cleanses, which can be hard to find with milky cleansers and smooths my skin. The only thing I don’t love about this product is the scent. It’s a bit masculine if you’re curious.
Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil
This is easily one of my favorite cleansing oils. It’s affordable and effective and rinses from the skin easily!
Bonajour Rice Bran Cleansing Oil
Another nice cleansing oil option! The rice bran in this brightens and soothes the skin.
Chemical Sunscreens
Etude House Sunprise Watery Light
This sunscreen is a bit of an oldie, but goodie. It goes on pretty much invisibly and feels fresh to the touch!
Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen
Another great option for sun protection! This one is particular is nice for dry skin because it has a bit of a moisturizing effect to it.
Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV
This is a fan favorite for several reasons. It’s non-tacky, feels lightweight and offers great protection!
Barrier Repair Products
Missha Bee Pollen Renew Ampouler
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t love this at first. In fact, I gave it a rough review in my video on Overhyped Award-Winning Korean Skincare Products. However, I tried it again and fell in love. I actually like that it’s a bit sticky as weird as that sound. It really works wonders and healing my skin and providing moisture.
iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum
Another skincare product I love for healing my skin. It features snail excretion (sounds gross, but it’s simply amazing!), which helps with recovery of the skin barrier.
belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb
Need I say more? I talk about this moisturizer all the time because I love it that much! Belif has great products for all skin types.
Etude House 2x Barrier Intensive Cream
For a more affordable option, I love the Etude House Soon Jung line. This line specializes in no-fragrance, soothing ingredients, and affordability. I like using this when my skin is particularly irritated.
Purito Unscented Recovery Cream
This is another cream I use on my skin when it is aggravated. The hero ingredient is centella asiatica, which helps which recovery and reducing inflammation and irritation.
Fermented Skincare
Missha Time Revolution Red Algae Treatment Essence
I can’t talk about fermented skincare without mentioning Missha essences. I have loved these for a long time, and have yet to find an essence from Missha I don’t like. They have a couple different varieties; I use this red algae one as my anti-aging product and the artemisia one for moisture and recovery.

T’else Kombucha Real Teatox Mask
I LOVE fermented tea in my skincare. Tea is super high in antioxidants as well as EGCG, which is great for anti-aging.
Body Care
Illiyoon Fresh Moisture Body Wash
Usually, I just slap whatever on my body after I shower. In 2020, I tried to be a better about this and pick skincare products designed for the skin on my body. One of my favorite brands for this has become Illiyoon. I love that they offer different versions for what you’re goals are; this fresh line is awesome for those who are looking for something that is non-sticky and lightweight.
